Terms of Service
a.k.a. Play PsyPets Like This, Or Not At All
These Terms of Service may be changed at any time. If/when they are, PsyPets will require you to read and agree to them to continue using the site.
People Who May Play
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 tells me that players under the age of 13 may not sign up for PsyPets. Sorry.
Things You Shouldn't Do
Doing any of the following things may get your account(s) warned and/or banned!
Any Illegal Activity
- Buying/selling real, live babies
- Distributing MP3s of [name of whatever band it is kids listen to these days]'s latest songs
- Linking to sites that distribute MP3s of [name of whatever band it is kids listen to these days]'s latest song
- Etc.
My Web Host Says "No Porn", So: No Porn
Porn is (sometimes) difficult to define. Don't make me try.
(Also, don't link to porn.)
Making The Forums Hell For Everyone Else
And by "Forums" I mean "Forums, PsyMail, Profiles, Profile Comments... anywhere you can post stuff that other people might see."
Examples:
- Spamming
- Bumping threads in such a way that it's obvious to everyone that all you're doing is bumping threads
- Advertising (for non-PsyPets stuff)
Scamming Players
Related note: There is no acceptable reason to impersonate an administrator.
Tricky issue: I know that some people like to buy/sell PsyPets items/moneys for items/moneys in other games (or even real life), however PsyPets cannot be held responsible for these transactions! My advice: don't do it. But if you must: you do so at your own risk.
"Alt Abuse"
PsyPets is totally cool with you have alternate accounts, however using them to get around game limitations is a no-no. Such uses include:
- Bidding on your own auctions
- Replying to your own posts
- Buying items from yourself in an attempt to manipulate item values
- Using alternate account(s) for free storage, allowance, etc. for your main account(s)
- You get the picture (I hope)
Things That Piss Me Off Personally
The section name is ambiguous, but the list is specific:
- Exploiting bugs/oversights - you should report these, instead
- Using bots (programs that perform game actions for you)
- Asking people to do something against these Terms of Service (for example, asking someone to post links to an illegal download site)
Warnings
In the event that a ban is not deemed necessary, your account(s) may receive a warning. You will receive an in-game mail (a PsyMail) if your account is warned. Warnings can be reviewed from the "My Account" page.
There is no hard and fast rule about how many warnings an account may receive before being banned; this is up to the discretion of an administrator.
Finally
Most players are happy to just play the game, but there are always a few who seek to take advantage. It is possible - in fact likely - that players of this type will find new and inventive ways to take advantage of the game and its players in ways not covered by the Terms of Service. For this reason, it is ultimately the right of an administrator to warn/ban any account for any reason.
To play PsyPets, you must read and agree to these Terms of Service.
If you are not willing to read or agree to these Terms of Service, do not sign up for an account.
